*会話なので、二度目のときは、“I’m”を省略した形を使いました。”I’m”をもう一度いっても良いですが、少しくどいです。

*Be sure to give your last name during formal introductions. (ビジネスの場面では、名字も伝えた方が親切です。)

Understand the overall structure of self-introductions.（自己紹介の全体構造を理解しましょう。）

It is useful to prepare the seven components that are often said during self-introductions in business situations. Although the first through third components may be quite easy even for beginners, the fourth through seventh components may need to be prepared beforehand. You can change the order of the seven components as necessary. （ビジネスの状況で自己紹介をする際に頻繁に使われる、便利な7つの要素を理解しましょう。 1から3番目の要素は初心者でも簡単ですが、4から7番目の要素は事前に準備する必要があります。 必要に応じて、7つの要素の順序を変更できます。）
  1. Hello. (最初の一言)
  2. It’s a pleasure to meet you. (はじめまして)
  3. I’m Takashi Saito. (名前)
  4. I work at Globali. (会社名)
  5. I’m a business consultant. (職業名)
  6. I work in the Education Department. (部署名) or I’m in charge of training new staff. (担当)
  7. I’m a senior manager. (ポジション)

Let’s look at some examples for each component.（各要素の解説を見ていきましょう）

1. Hello. (最初の一言)

話しはじめる前の導入としての一言を身につけましょう。

ここで伝えたいこと：
「こんにちは。」

2. It’s a pleasure to meet you. (はじめまして)

ここで伝えたいこと：
「お会いできてうれしいです。」
「はじめまして。」
「ようやく会えました！(finally)」といったニュアンス。

*Don’t use to somebody you have met before. (二度目にお会いするときには使わないで下さいね。)

Examples
(I’m) pleased to meet you.
(It’s) nice to meet you.
(It’s) a pleasure to meet you.
(It’s) great to meet you.
(I’m) glad to meet you.
It’s very nice to meet you.
It’s nice to finally put a face to a name.(意訳：ようやくお会いできて嬉しいです。直訳：ようやくお名前とお顔が一致できて嬉しいです。（今まではメールのやり取りや噂話でしか関係を持っていなかった初めて会う相手に使えます。)

意味：
「私は、ｘｘｘです。」「私の名前は、ｘｘｘです。」

(e.g. My name is Ayumi Saito) (よりかしこまった場面での言い方。大人数の前でのSpeechなど。普段使うと少し大げさに聞こえます。)

 I’m …

(e.g. I’m Ayumi Saito.)(ビジネスや一般的な場面での自己紹介で使用。)

4. I work at Globali. (会社名)

Use
（at / from）+ your company name to introduce your company name.

Examples
I’m from ABC Accounting.
I’m an accountant at ABC Accounting.
I’m an English teacher at Globali.

*”I am”とは言わず、”I’m”が会話では普通。 “am”と省略せずに言うと、「私は！」と強調しているよう。但し、メールや文章では、politeである必要があるため、省略はしません。

5. I’m a business consultant (職業名)

Use
a/ an + occupation

Examples
I’m an English teacher.

I’m a Youtuber.
*Verb + er = someone who does the verb) (blogger, YouTuber, farmer, singer, writer, designer, lawyer,…)

6. I work in the Education Department. (部署名) or I’m in charge of training new staff. (担当)

Department:
（in, on）+ the + your department

Examples
I’m an English teacher in the education department at Globali.
I’m an English teacher on the English team at Globali.
I’m a certified accountant in the management department at ABC Accountant Company.

*aとtheの違い ：（間違えるとbusinessで誤解を生みやすいので、注意しましょう。)

a/an: 会社の中に多数いる中の一人で聞き手によってどの先生か想像がかわるので、”a teacher / an English teacher”となります。一方、education department は、その会社にはひとつなので、どの聞き手も同じ部署を想像できます。なので、 ”the education depatment”となります。 他の例として、太陽は一つしか存在しないので、「太陽がきれいだね」という会話の場合、どの聞き手も同じ太陽を想像できるので、the sunとなります。


また、他の例として、このような英文を読んだことがありますか？

There was a girl in the park.

公園にある女の子がいました（読み手はまだ、どの女の子かわかりません。）

The girl was in a pink dress.
The girl was dancing with smile!

ピンクのドレスを着て、笑顔で踊っています。（聞き手は、公園にいる女の子だと一行目でわかったので、theになりました。theは同じものを想像できるとき（同じものを認識しているとき)に使います。


*EnglishのEはいつも大文字。(言語や国名、固有名詞は、いつも大文字から始まる) (“English”, “Japanese” , “China”, “Tom”)

*ROLE (担当) *部署と同じである場合が殆どなので、紹介しない場合がある。

Examples
I’m in charge of International Management at ABC Accounting Company.
I’m responsible for English education at Globali.
I’m a certified accountant in the management department at ABC Accountant Company.

7. I’m a senior manager. (ポジション)

（the）position ＋前置詞（of/ at）

一人しか居ない(聞き手が断定できる)場合は、”the”を使います。

I’m the senior manager at ABC Accountant Company.
I’m the president of Globali.
